About me
Experience

I am a qualified professional counsellor with an advanced (Level 6) Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling. I trained at the highly regarded Bath Centre of Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC).
I offer sessions for an agreed period of time or on an ongoing basis.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering to professional standards and fully insured.
As well as my private practice at the Wellbeing Centre in Wood Street, I am a volunteer counsellor at IPSUM.
My experience includes but is not limited to: work related issues, stress, relationship difficulties, cultural family dynamics, trauma, anxiety, depression, bereavement, self-harm, self-esteem and confidence struggles.
My decision to train as a counsellor was influenced by my firsthand experience of the value of counselling and I felt drawn to helping others in this way.
Prior to my counselling training, I supported young people on a pastoral level. I also worked in the Financial Services industry for 15 years and I appreciate the complexities that may be encountered in the corporate world as well as within education.
Approach - how I work:
As an integrative counsellor, my approach draws from different therapeutic modalities, to ensure sessions are attuned to you and your individual needs. I value a holistic approach to wellbeing, which considers the body and mind connection. I offer a collaborative approach and will support you by listening, offering gentle challenge and different perspectives where it may be useful. Our work may involve exploring your thoughts, body sensations, feelings and patterns of behaviours, to enable you to make sense of the difficulties you are facing. I offer creative interventions if this feels beneficial, such as working with stones, drawing and guided meditations. You may wish to explore experiences from the past that may be impacting you now, in the present. However we choose to work together, I am interested in everything you have to bring and it will inform our work together.
I believe in the transformative power of the process of counselling: meaningful and purposeful insights often bringing greater clarity to your individual experiences and leading to positive shifts.
